Electronic Telegram No. 3847 Central Bureau for Astronomical Telegrams INTERNATIONAL ASTRONOMICAL UNION CBAT Director: Daniel W. E. Lipunov reports that D. Denisenko has discovered an apparent supernova (magnitude 17.4) on unfiltered CCD images (limiting mag 19.1) obtained with the MASTER-Kislovodsk auto-detection system (double 0.40-m f/2.5 reflector) on Mar. 26.008 UT. The new object is located at R.A. = 15h23m18s.48, Decl. = +18d17'33".3 (equinox 2000.0), which is 1" west and 6" south of the center of galaxy SDSS J152318.53+181739.3. D. Denisenko and E. Gorbovskoy (Lomonosov Moscow State University) report that nothing was visible at this position on MASTER-Kislovodsk archival images taken on 2013 Dec. 25.1 (limiting mag 18.5). The discovery and reference images have been posted at the following website URL: http://master.sai.msu.ru/static/OT/152318.48181733.3.png. G. Terreran, L. Tomasella, S. Benetti, E. Cappellaro, N. Elias-Rosa, P. Ochner, A. Pastorello, M. Turatto, Osservatorio Astronomico di Padova, Istituto Nazionale di Astrofisica, report that an optical spectrogram (range 340-820 nm; resolution 1.3 nm) of 2014am, obtained on Apr. 1.15 UT with the Asiago 1.82-m Copernico Telescope (+ AFOSC), shows it to be a type-Ia supernova at redshift around 0.053. The best match is found with several type-Ia supernovae about a week after B-band maximum light. An expansion velocity of about 10400 km/s is derived from the minimum of the Si II 635-nm line. The Asiago classification spectra are posted at website URL http://sngroup.oapd.inaf.it; classification was made via GELATO (Harutyunyan et al. 2008, A.Ap. 488, 383) and SNID (Blondin and Tonry 2007, Ap.J. 666, 1024).
