J. Christensen reports his discovery of a comet on CCD images taken with the Mount Lemmon 1.5-m reflector (discovery observations tabulated below), the diffuse object displaying a coma of diameter approximately 8" with a short tail extending approximately 10" toward p.a. 300 deg. Four 60-s follow-up exposures taken on Jan. 3.34-3.35 UT show a similar appearance, with a coma diameter of approximately 10", extended to the west-northwest. 2016 UT R.A. (2000) Decl. Mag.
