Weryk and E. Lilly report the discovery of a comet in four w-band exposures taken with the 1.8-m Pan-STARRS1 telescope at Haleakala on Aug. 14.5 UT (discovery observations tabulated below), noting evidence of a short tail extending for approximately 6" in p.a. approximately 250 degrees. Pre- discovery Pan-STARRS1 observations were subsequently found also on July 24. 2015 UT R.A. (2000) Decl. Mag. Maury and J.-F. Soulier obtained images with a 0.4-m f/8 Ritchey-Chretien reflector at San Pedro de Atacama, Chile, on Aug. 19.24-19.31 UT that show an 8" coma and a curved tail 17" long in p.a. 270 deg; they measured red mag 19.6-19.8. W. H. Ryan, Magdalena Ridge Observatory, found the comet to show a tail toward p.a. about 250 deg on R-band images taken with the 2.4-m f/8.9 reflector on Aug. 19.3; he measured red mag 19.7-19.9.
