J. Drake, S. G. Djorgovski, A. Mahabal, M. J. Graham, and R. Williams, California Institute of Technology; J. L. Prieto, Carnegie Observatories; R. H. McNaught and G. Garradd, Australian National University; M. Catelan, Pontificia Universidad Catolica de Chile; E. C. Beshore and S. M. Larson, Lunar and Planetary Laboratory, University of Arizona; and E. Christensen, Gemini Observatory, report the Catalina Real-time Transient Survey discovery of an apparent supernova in unfiltered Catalina Sky Survey (CSS) images: SN 2011 UT R.A. (2000.0) Decl. Mag. Offset 2011kk Jan. 25.22 5 07 37.88 + 7 15 24.6 17.4 4" E, 25" N The variable was designated PSN J05073790+0715251 when it was posted at the Central Bureau's TOCP webpage (on the basis of slightly different position end figures originally reported by the discovers) and is here designated SN 2011kk based on the confirmation of this as a type-Ia supernova from spectroscopic observations obtained on 2011 Jan. 25 or 26 by J. Prieto (cf. website URL http://www.astronomerstelegram.org/?read=3126). Additional CCD magnitudes for 2011kk: 2011 Jan. 8.19 UT, [20.1 (CSS); 27.136, 17.8 (R. A. Koff, Bennett, CO, USA; position end figures 37s.92, 24".5). NOTE: These 'Central Bureau Electronic Telegrams' are sometimes superseded by text appearing later in the printed IAU Circulars.
