Electronic Telegram No. 3640 Central Bureau for Astronomical Telegrams INTERNATIONAL ASTRONOMICAL UNION CBAT Director: Daniel W. E. Jenniskens) from observations with the Canadian Meteor Orbit Radar that the Daytime Craterid meteors (DCR; IAU meteor shower number 426) are in outburst. Based on similar outbursts in 2003 and 2008, it is expected that this periodic shower will show strong activity over the next four days and peak on Sept. 1 (around solar longitude 158 deg). The radiant of the shower at the peak will be at R.A. = 169 deg, Decl. = -15 deg (equinox 2000.0). The apparent velocity is 20 km/s, and the geocentric velocity is 18 km/s. This location of the radiant is very near the sun, which means that the shower can be seen visually only in the hour after sunset, best from locations at southern latitudes. It is possible to follow the "DCR" activity at the following website URL: http://fireballs.ndc.nasa.gov/cmor-radiants/earth.html.
