Electronic Telegram No. 3465 Central Bureau for Astronomical Telegrams INTERNATIONAL ASTRONOMICAL UNION CBAT Director: Daniel W. E. The new object is located at R.A. = 13h52m56s.63, Decl. = +21d56'21".7 (equinox 2000.0), which is 0".7 east and 0".8 north of a possible host galaxy (SDSS J135256.58+215620.9). Nothing is seen at this position in images taken on Mar. 10.75 (limiting mag 19.5) and Mar. 8.78 (limiting mag 20.4). The variable was confirmed with the Swope 1-m telescope at Las Campanas Observatory. M. Stritzinger, Department of Physics and Astronomy, Aarhus University; and F. Taddia, Oskar Klein Centre, Stockholm University, on behalf of the KISS collaboration and the Carnegie Supernova Project, report that they obtained a visual-wavelength spectrogram of 2013ba on Apr. 7.2 UT with the Nordic Optical Telescope (+ Alfosc). The spectrum reveals the transient to be a normal type-Ia supernova at or around maximum light.
