The new object is located at R.A. = 16h00m23s.10, Decl. = +37d44'57".0 (equinox 2000.0), which is 4" west and 3" north of the nucleus of the presumed host galaxy, SDSS J160023.23+374454.8. The object was not detected in an image from 2010 Mar. 18.5 (limiting mag 21.7). S. Ben-Ami, A. Gal-Yam, and R. Quimby report that optical spectroscopy (range 350-1000 nm; resolution 2.5 nm), obtained on 2010 June 8 UT with the Hale 5-m telescope showed that 2010mb was then a type-Ic supernova about 75 days after the explosion at a redshift z = 0.1325, similar to SN 1995F (Matheson et al. 2000, A.J. 121, 1648). The Hale classification spectra are posted at the following website URL: http://www.weizmann.ac.il/astrophysics/wiserep/; classification was made via SUPERFIT (Howell et al. 2005, Ap.J. 634, 1180).
