SUPERNOVA 2012dv
     L. Tomasella, S. Benetti, E. Cappellaro, A. Pastorello, M. Turatto, P.
Ochner, S. Valenti, and M. Fiaschi, Osservatorio Astronomico di Padova,
Istituto Nazionale di Astrofisica, report that inspection of a low-signal-to-
noise-ratio CCD spectrum of 2012dv (cf. CBET 3191), obtained on July 27.04 UT
with the Asiago 1.82-m Copernico Telescope (+ AFOSC; range 340-820 nm;
resolution 2.4 nm), suggests that this is a type-Ia supernova.  Cross-
correlation with a library of supernova spectra via the "Supernova
Identification" code (SNID; Blondin and Tonry 2007, Ap.J. 666, 1024) indicates
that 2012dv has a redshift of about 0.07 and is similar to several type-Ia
supernovae approximately one month past maximum brightness.
