SUPERNOVA 2012an IN NGC 6373 = PSN J17241023+5900069
     T.-W. Chen, M. Fraser, D. Wright, S. J. Smartt, R. Kotak, Queen's
University, Belfast, report that a spectrum (range 530-975 nm; resolution
about 1000) was obtained of PSN J17241023+5900069 = SN 2012an (cf. CBET 3035)
on Mar. 2.28 UT with the 4.2-m William Herschel Telescope (+ ISIS).  The
spectrum is quite noisy, but cross-correlation with a library of supernova
spectra via the "Supernova Identification" code (SNID; Blondin and Tonry 2007,
Ap.J. 666, 1024) shows that 2012an is a type-II supernova, with a best match
to the type-IIb supernova 1993J around peak.
