SUPERNOVA 2012aj = PSN J16270396+5136498
     T.-W. Chen, M. Fraser, D. Wright, S. J. Smartt, R. Kotak, Queen's
University, Belfast, report that a spectrum (range 530-975 nm; resolution
about 1000) of PSN J16270396+5136498 = 2012aj (cf. CBET 3030) was obtained on
Mar. 2.27 UT with the 4.2-m William Herschel Telescope (+ ISIS).  Cross-
correlation with a library of supernova spectra via the "Supernova
Identification" code (SNID; Blondin and Tonry 2007, Ap.J. 666, 1024) shows
that 2012aj is a type-Ia supernova similar to SN 2004S at about 3 weeks after
maximum light.
